Our Story
Little Mariama's Foundation was founded on a simple but profound conviction: a child's circumstances should not determine the limits of their future. Born from a deeply personal connection to Kono District, Sierra Leone — through Mariama's grandmother, a woman whose resilience and grace embody everything LMF stands for — our foundation channels that love into direct, lasting action.
Every kit we pack, every student we equip, and every programme we build is a testament to the belief that where a child is born should never be the ceiling of what they can become.
The Kono Connection
Kono District sits in Eastern Sierra Leone — a region of remarkable resilience and profound need. It is a place shaped by history, rich in community spirit, and home to thousands of children who deserve every opportunity to learn, grow, and lead.
LMF's work in Kono is not charitable intervention from the outside — it is a homecoming. Every initiative is shaped by the voices of the community itself: educators, parents, students, and leaders who understand what change looks like from the inside.

Our Roadmap
Annual Back-to-School Givebacks
Delivering complete 8-item school supply kits directly to students in underserved communities each year — no middlemen, no overhead, no delay. Our first giveback is in Kono District in April 2027, with 200 students targeted.
Community Needs Assessment & Partnerships
Working alongside local educators, families, and community leaders to design initiatives from the ground up — shaped by the people they serve.
Teen & Youth Resource Center, Kono
A permanent physical space offering mentorship, technology access, academic guidance, and a safe community hub. Co-designed with the community, for the community.
The Long-Term Vision
Beyond annual givebacks, LMF is working towards establishing a permanent Teen and Youth Resource Centre in Kono District — a place where young people can access mentorship, develop skills, find academic guidance, and belong to a safe, nurturing community.
This centre will be co-designed alongside the Kono community — not imposed, but built together. It is the long-term expression of everything LMF stands for: sustained, community-rooted investment in the futures of Kono's young people.
